From Creative direction to makeup, and costume-making there is nothing Moshoodat can’t do. She entered the creative world as a makeup artist & licensed esthetician and soon after began creating conceptual ideas with photographers…and the rest was history! As a makeup artist, Moshoodat’s client sheet consists of socialites like Diggy Simons, Yandy Smith, Amara Lanegra, and many others. Moshoodat’s mission is to change the way society views women of color. She created “Moshoodat” – a series that landed her features with BET, BuzzFeed, Refinery 29, Yahoo, and the list goes on.

Since then Moshoodat has built a well-renowned reputation for creative directing campaigns for household beauty brands like Iman, Juvias Place, Makeup Forever, Black Opal, and Yandy Smith’s “Yelle SkinCare.” She now creative directs album covers for well knows Afrobeats Artists like Kuamie Ugene, Yemi Alade, and Afro B. Her Costume and Jewelry creative venture brought CrownByMoshoodat to the forefront and landed her pieces on the front cover of Essence magazine with artist Ciara wearing her rings. She also landed in The New York Times, featuring her jewelry on “The Dance Hall Queen” Spice. Moshoodat’s pieces were also worn by Beyonce for her black Is King Project as well as other stars like Mona Scott Young. As of recent Moshoodat has been stepping into the interior decorating / set design and canvas art field.

This Venture is titled “Ruth By Moshoodat,” demonstrating a bit more of her fine-tuned creative touch to any home and/or environment. Her set design work can be seen on projects like reality T.V stars Cyn Santana’s music video No Question, which she Co-directed. You can also spot her creative direction work on the album covers of Afro B, Kuamie Ugene, and collaborative projects with photographers like Joey “Island Boi ” Rosado and Nyarko to name a few.
